Job Summary


The ESOL Teacher provides English language instruction using district approved delivery models for English learners (ELs) at all levels of English language development. He/she is responsible for supporting  Graduation Achievement Center Program Coordinators and Teachers in all ESOL instructional programs. Prepares course outlines and objectives aligned to WIDA Standards and academic language of Common Core/Georgia Performance Standards according to state and district requirements. Monitors and maintains EL documents related to services, accommodations, and student progress as required by federal, state, and district mandates.  Works with support staff to provide the best instructional program for English learners. Conducts parent/teacher conferences to review EL instructional accommodations, progress, performance, and behavior. Facilitates and/or participates in school events to promote EL parent engagement. Participates in faculty/professional meetings, conferences, and teacher training workshops. This position involves ESOL student case management and language acquisition instruction. This part-time position will require some evening and weekend hours on occasion in order to communicate with students and families.
